What wines are featured at the Autumn Wine Tasting event?
The Autumn Wine Tasting features a carefully curated selection of wines chosen to complement the seasonal flavors of our farm-to-table menu. Our sommelier selects wines from both renowned vineyards and boutique wineries, focusing on varietals that pair beautifully with autumn harvest ingredients.
Guests can expect to enjoy a range of wines including full-bodied reds perfect for the cooler autumn evenings, crisp whites that complement lighter courses, and perhaps a sparkling selection to start the evening. Each wine is chosen not only for its quality but for how it enhances the specific dishes on the menu.
The pairing experience is designed to be educational as well as enjoyable. Throughout the evening, our sommelier provides tasting notes and explains why each wine was selected to accompany its paired course, helping guests deepen their appreciation of wine and food harmony.
Whether you are a seasoned wine enthusiast or just beginning to explore the world of wine, the Autumn Wine Tasting offers a welcoming and approachable tasting experience in a beautiful North Shore setting.
What is included in the Autumn Wine Tasting ticket price?
Each Autumn Wine Tasting ticket includes the complete evening experience: a multi-course farm-to-table dinner prepared with seasonal North Shore ingredients, expert wine pairings for each course, and a welcome reception with appetizers and your first glass of wine upon arrival.
The evening typically begins at 5:30 PM with a welcome gathering where guests can mingle, enjoy light bites, and take in the beautiful surroundings of Waialua Valley Farms. The seated dinner follows, featuring multiple courses each thoughtfully paired with complementary wines.
Your ticket also includes access to the farm setting itself, providing a unique opportunity to see where many of the ingredients on your plate were grown. The communal dining format means you will share a long table with fellow food and wine enthusiasts, creating natural opportunities for conversation and connection.
All gratuities and service charges are included in the ticket price, so guests can simply relax and enjoy the experience without worrying about additional costs during the event.
What is the dress code for the Autumn Wine Tasting dinner?
The dress code for our Autumn Wine Tasting event is resort casual, reflecting the relaxed yet refined atmosphere of a North Shore farm-to-table dinner. We encourage guests to dress comfortably while embracing the spirit of the occasion.
For women, a sundress, elegant blouse with comfortable pants, or a flowing maxi dress works perfectly. For men, a collared shirt or tasteful aloha shirt paired with slacks or clean chinos is appropriate. The key is to feel comfortable while still looking polished for an evening of fine dining.
Since our events are held outdoors at Waialua Valley Farms, we recommend wearing shoes suitable for grassy or uneven terrain. Wedges, flat sandals, or loafers are better choices than stilettos or thin-soled dress shoes. The farm setting is beautiful but it is still a working agricultural property.
We also suggest bringing a light layer such as a cardigan or light jacket, as North Shore evenings can be pleasantly cool, especially during the autumn months. The temperature typically ranges from 70 to 78 degrees Fahrenheit in the evening, making it comfortable for outdoor dining.
Is transportation available to Waialua Valley Farms?
While Gather & Feast Hawaii does not currently provide shuttle service to Waialua Valley Farms, we are happy to help guests plan their transportation. The farm is located at 65-665 Kaukaonahua Road in Waialua, easily accessible by car from anywhere on Oahu.
From Waikiki or downtown Honolulu, the drive to Waialua Valley Farms takes approximately 50 to 70 minutes depending on traffic. We recommend taking the H-2 freeway north and following signs toward Waialua and Haleiwa. There is ample free parking available at the venue.
For guests who prefer not to drive, especially given the wine tasting nature of the event, we recommend arranging a rideshare service or private car. Several local transportation companies on Oahu offer evening car services that can drop you off and pick you up at a designated time.
We strongly encourage guests who plan to enjoy the full wine pairing experience to arrange a designated driver or alternative transportation. Your safety is our priority, and we want everyone to be able to fully enjoy the wines without concern about the drive home.
Can I attend the Autumn Wine Tasting if I have dietary restrictions?
Absolutely. Gather & Feast Hawaii is committed to ensuring every guest has a wonderful dining experience regardless of dietary restrictions. We accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and other common dietary needs with advance notice.
When purchasing your ticket, please note any dietary restrictions or allergies in the special requirements field, or contact us directly at (808) 542-0798 at least one week before the event. This allows our chefs adequate time to prepare alternative dishes that maintain the same level of quality and creativity as the standard menu.
For the wine tasting component, our sommelier can suggest non-alcoholic pairing alternatives for guests who prefer not to consume alcohol. We offer artisanal mocktails, locally sourced juices, and craft beverages that complement the dinner courses beautifully.
Our kitchen team takes food allergies very seriously and follows strict protocols to prevent cross-contamination. However, as our events are prepared in a shared kitchen environment, we encourage guests with severe allergies to contact us in advance so we can discuss specific safety measures and ensure your comfort throughout the evening.
